Welcome back to another blog post. I hope you are all well. Now, I would like to just apologize in advance. I'm not really feeling 100% this week, so I have not really managed to try out many new products. The only product that I have been testing this week is the 'Revolution - Bake & Finish - Luxury Baking Powder'. Here is my thoughts and opinions on this powder.

I get quite a lot of people asking me; "What's the best powder to bake with?", "What is baking?", "Do I need to bake?", "What color powder should I bake with?". So today in this blog I will answer all these questions. Before I do so, I will talk about this product first and my thoughts and opinions.

This powder helps me set my make up for a very long day. It also helps with brightening and making my face feel flawless, almost photoshoped. It does not flash back (which I was very superseded and happy about, as most powders that I have used can sometimes flash back and make me look whiter in photos than in real life).

The powder is available in 10 shades, which for a powder I think is really good. It has shades that work really well for all skin tones. Using a white powder works really well if you have fair to light skin. Where using banana powder (blog post coming soon) works better for medium to darker skin. You can however get translucent powder which works well for all skin types, but I tend not to use translucent much as it can make some complexions look a little grey. I feel like they could maybe add a couple more shades of powder. One that I am currently on the look out for, but yet to find, is a powder that would be suitable for pink undertones, so many a light pink powder.
Now, onto my questions. One question that I get asked quite a lot is "What is baking?". Now this is not when you are making food in the kitchen, but more making the make up set on the face. Letting the foundation, concealer, and other base products all sit together and allows the heat of the face to set. The term "Baking", originally started from Drag Queens. Again, basically making the base set to last a long time.
"Do I need to bake?". Well that is up to you to decide. You don't have to bake if you don't want to or need to. Baking does help keep the make up looking flawless and crease free, it is more of a security blanket for the make up. Baking doesn't really need to last long. I tend to keep mine on for about 10 minutes. The area's that I apply baking are where I would tend to highlight the face. I bake under my eyes and around the cheek area, sometimes my forehead, and sometimes my upper lip or chin. I also use baking to carve out the jaw line, just so it makes my face look like I have more of a defined jaw line.

Now that 'Revolution' has come out with 10 shades, I will defiantly invest in these and use them for my make-up kit. They have quite a lot of shades which are perfect for different skin tones.
"What is the best powder to bake with?". This question has to remain a mystery at this moment in time. I am still trying to find other brands and different shades, but as soon as I know, I will do a blog post on my top faves.
So, that is pretty much, what you need to know with baking. It helps make the base feel and look good. It also helps keeping the base look matte. I don't really have a negative with this powder, as this has really worked for me and kept my face looking really good all day.
I would defiantly recommended this powder for you to try, it's £5, very affordable and available in 10 different shades. The amount of product in this bottle is just enough. Even if you just get this to try out, it is still worth keeping it in your make up kit.
